Cooper, Winifred E., 94, Orbisonia, passed away September 18, 2020 at AristaCare at Woodland Park. Born February 13, 1926, Orbisonia, daughter of the late James and Anna (Drake) Pheasant. Preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Cooper, Sr.; children, Barbara McGarvey; Melvin Cooper, Jr.; siblings, Manice Wakefield; Wendell “Buzz” Pheasant; and Joann Gilland. Survived by her children, James Cooper and wife, Shirley, Lewistown; Dan Cooper and wife, Beverly, Huntingdon; son-in-law, John McGarvey, Shirleysburg; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Cooper, Mount Union; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. Winifred was a 1945 graduate of Orbisonia High School. She worked for Workman’s Store, Letterkenny Army Depot, L.G. Grief Sewing Factory, but her most cherished job was being an airplane watcher during WWII. Friends and family will be received Thursday, September 24, 2020 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m., Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Pastor Rich Hamman, officiant. Interment to follow at Haven Rest Memorial Park, Shirleysburg. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 61 E.
