Vaughn, Thelma R., 96, Mount Union, passed away September 19, 2019 at AristaCare at Woodland Park. Born March 26, 1923, Rockhill Furnace, daughter of the late Edward and Fanny (Chilcote) Rogers. Preceded in death by her husband, James A. Vaughn; daughter, Dorothy Margaret Vaughn; sisters, Hilda Miller, Dorothy Burdge, Grace Jones, Almeda Holesa and Denise Winnick; and brothers, Fred Roders, Sr. and Lester Rogers. Survived by her children, James R. Vaughn and wife, Jeanne, Mount Union; Barbara J. Shaw and husband, James, Saxton; four grandchildren, Tracy Flagle and companion, Travis Ritchey; Alfred Moyer and wife, Amy; Christina Sitch and husband, Marlin; and Lindsey Myers and husband, Travis; six great-grandchildren, McKenna, Carter, Landon, Hunter, Jocelyn, and Riley; and a step-grandson, James Shaw and wife, Suzanne. Thelma enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting and traveling. Most importantly she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends and family will be received Monday, September 23 from 6-8 p.m. at Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 61 E. Shirley St., Mount Union, where funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 24 at 2 p.m., Pastor Joe Barrett, officiant. Interment Orbisonia IOOF Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the NuVisions Center (formerly Juniata Assoc. for the Blind), 658 Valley St., Lewistown, PA 17044 or Kindred Hospice, 1701 12th Ave., Building D, Altoona, PA 16602.
