Samuel D. Price, 86, 14033 2nd Street, Mount Union, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at Westminster Woods in Huntingdon. Born February 18, 1934, in Mount Union, he was the son of the late Samuel G. and Mary B. (Clark) Price. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Price in 2018. Survivors include his loving wife of 68 years, Patsy (Prough) Price; daughter, Melinda Salter and husband, Harry, Huntingdon; granddaughter, Amanda Salter, Harrisburg; and brother, Richard Price and wife, Mary, McVeytown.

 

Sam dedicated 42 years of his life to the United States Postal Service as a rural letter carrier, for which he received the 30 Years Accident-Free Driving Award for driving over a million miles without an accident. He was a longtime member of the National Rural Letter Carriers Association. Sam was also a member of the Blue Juniata VFW Post 5754.  A 1951 graduate of Mount Union High School, Sam went on to serve his country in the Marine Corps. In his free time, he enjoyed his yearly hunting trip to Jackman, Maine. Being an avid gardener, Sam was especially proud of his tomatoes and flower beds. Most importantly, Sam cherished his time with family and friends.

 

A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2020 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at the Funeral Home, Joe Barrett, officiant. The family kindly requests that those in attendance wear masks and practice social distancing. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 61 E.
