Martin, Jeffrey D., 57, Huntingdon, transitioned to be with his Lord and Savior on June 24, 2020 due to a motor vehicle accident. Born July 3, 1962, Jersey City, NJ, son of Clarence Martin and Cora (Walker) Owens. Preceded in death by his father; stepfather, Rev. Irwin S. Owens; paternal grandparents, David and Louise Martin; maternal grandparents, Jerry and Rosa Lee Walker. Survived by his mother; children, Damon Parnell-Martin, Washington, D.C.; Celeste J. Martin, Harrisburg; Robert Weir, Texas; Daunte Martin, Mount Union; granddaughters, Gisselle and Skye; siblings, Debra Martin-Gordon and husband, Eric, Maryland; Clarence Andre Martin and companion, Donna, Virginia; Rosalyn Hileman and husband, Arnold, Williamsburg; Crystal Martin, Maryland; paternal aunt, Dorothy Winfree, Maryland; nieces and nephews, Carissa Ticconi, Adalee Jones, Rosann Posey, Kelsey Martin, Eric Gordon, Erin Gordon, Jeremy Martin and Syreeta Martin; companion, Crystal Mellott, Shirleysburg; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Jeffrey graduated from Mount Union Area High School in 1980 and enlisted in the United States Air Force. Upon his return to civilian life, he trained in cosmetology at Empire Beauty School and in June 2003 received his cosmetology license from the state of Pennsylvania. He became a self-employed barber and took his talents across western Pennsylvania, including Monroeville, Mount Union, State College and Huntingdon. Over the course of his lifetime, Jeffrey built a loyal clientele and served as owner and operator of “A Brother’s Touch Hair Salon.” He enjoyed cooking, barbequing, fishing, kayaking and connecting on social media. His passion was spending time with family, friends and his beloved dog, Roscoe. A birthday celebration of Jeffrey’s life will take place Friday, July 3, 2020 at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m., Rev. Herman Burks officiant.
