Yelovich, Jean A., 87, Mount Union, died Friday May 1, 2020 following an extended illness. Born December 1, 1932, Mapleton Depot, daughter of the late Lawrence R. and Thelma P. (Park) Andrews. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Michael Yelovich, whom she married on January 30, 1956 at St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, Mount Union; brother, L. Park Andrews, Mapleton Depot; grandson, Matthew Yelovich, Mt. Zion, IL. Survived by one son and four daughters, Michael Yelovich (Sandra), Mt. Zion, IL; Christine Yelovich, Carlisle, PA; Josephine Meagley (Mark), Bonaire, GA; Andrea Christoff (Roger), Mount Union, PA; Pamela Kouns (JP), Grayson, KY; 10 grandchildren, Michael Boone, Jennifer Meagley, Michael Yelovich, Nicholas Boone, Krista Kouns, Mark Yelovich, Mark Meagley, Allison Welch, Alexander Christoff, Katherine Christoff; and six great-grandchildren. Jean was a member of St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church. She was a charter member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and served as their organist. Jean was a 1950 graduate of Mount Union High School. She received her secondary education from Lock Haven State Teacher’s College where she graduated in 1954 with a B.S. degree in health and physical education. Jean retired in 1993 after 36 years of teaching with the Mount Union Area School District where she taught kindergarten, music and physical education both at the elementary and junior high levels. Jean and her husband enjoyed traveling within the United States, Europe, Mexico and the British Isles. She especially loved her frequent trips to Williamsburg, VA. Throughout her life, she enjoyed music, playing both the trumpet and piano; reading; knitting; cooking; and spending time with her family. At the request of the deceased, there will be a private service at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Yelovich Memorial Scholarship Fund, in care of Andrea Christoff, P.O. Box 329, Mount Union, PA, 17066.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 61 E.
