Hoffman, Jack Denton, 85, was welcomed by our Lord and Savior January 10, 2020, to be reunited with his wife, Edna. Born March 31, 1934, Three Springs, son of the late Aubrey and Alfaretta Hoffman. He graduated from Saltillo High School in 1952. Jack then met his wife of 63 years at the Shade Gap Picnic, where Edna was working the french fry stand. They were married on March 30, 1956. Living in Three Springs, they grew their family with 5 children; Mike Hoffman and wife Carol, Three Springs; Greg Hoffman and wife Helen, McConnellsburg; Michele Miller and husband Chip, Fort Littleton; Beth Anne Mellott and husband Mark, Fort Littleton; and Christine Hughes and husband Jason, Orbisonia. Pappy Jack loved checking to see if his 9 grandchildren and his 17 great-grandchildren were still “wet behind the ears”. Survived by his siblings are sisters, Audrey Lane, Three Springs; Thelma Snyder, Three Springs; and Iva Herbert, Siota, PA; Preceded in death by wife, Edna; sister, Sonja; grandson-in-law, Justin Reed; and great-granddaughter, Sierra Coons. Jack retired after 37 years from Letterkenny Army Depot where he worked as an ammunition supervisor. He also served in the United States Army. Jack thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors. He could be found off-road motorcycling, hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family and friends. He attended Living Water Christian Outreach Church, where he loved worshipping our Lord. Friends and family will be received Wednesday, January 15, 2020 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m., Living Water Christian Outreach Church, Three Springs, Pastor Denny Hunsinger, officiant. Interment at Fair Ridge Cemetery, Shade Gap, with military honors. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of the Living Water Church, 7735 Meadow Gap Rd, Three Springs, PA 17264. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 61 E.
