George, Eleanor L., 99, Cresson, went home to be with the Lord February 25, 2020 at her home. Born April 7, 1920, Lilly, daughter of the late Alex and Margaret (Rodden) Tickerhoof. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph George, Jr.; son, Joseph George, III; grandson, Robert George, Jr.; brothers, Earl, Paul and Robert Tickerhoof; and sisters, Margaret Sweeney, Rita Brummert and Helen Bruening. Survived by her children, Robert George, Sr. and wife, Elizabeth, Duncansville; Mary Lou Campbell, Cresson; and Margaret “Peggy” and husband, Dr. Ronald Walters, West End, N.C.; 10 grandchildren, Jacqueline Amick and husband, Joel; Lisa Foor and husband, Roger; Camela Sheppard and husband, Chris; Bethany Campbell and fiancé, Matt Eckenrode; Jessie Park and husband, Dave; Tiffany Fanelli and husband, Patrick; Thomas Shaffer and wife, Kelly; Jordan Teeters and husband, Jeffrey; Scott Walters and wife, Jamie; and Erik Walters and wife, Jess; 30 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Ruby and Ruth Tickerhoof. Eleanor was the last of her immediate family. She was a graduate of Lilly High School, Class of 1939. Eleanor was employed by Cresson Memorial Co. for 28 years. She was a life member of the Legion of Mary and the Lilly American Legion Auxiliary Post 628, and the Red Hatters. Most importantly she enjoyed the love of her family and will be greatly missed. Friends and family will be received, Tuesday, March 3, 2020 from 4-8 p.m., Anderson Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 233 Keystone Ave., where the Legion of Mary will recite the rosary. Funeral Mass will be celebrated, Wednesday, March 4, 2020, 11 a.m., St. Aloysius Catholic Church, the Rev. Leo Arnone, celebrant. Interment St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.
