Dorothy M. Shields

Shields, Dorothy M., 91, Mount Union, passed away December 30, 2019, at Penn Highlands. Born May 21, 1928, Saltillo, daughter of the late Howard and Emily (Drake) Hershey. Preceded in death by husband, John W. Shields and brother, Glenn Hershey. Survived by daughter, Linda Jenkins and husband, Thomas; son, David Shields and wife, Brenda; brother, Gary Hershey; 4 grandchildren, Christine Foster, Michael Shields, Derek Jenkins and Todd Shields; 4 great-grandchildren, Erin Foster, Brock Jenkins, Hailey Shields and Wyatt Jenkins. Dorothy was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting with the Lutheran Church Quilting Team, and putting together puzzles. Dorothy loved to spend time with family and friends, especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Friends and family will be received on January 5, 2020, from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 3 p.m. at the funeral home, Pastor David Ford, officiant. Internment at the Saltillo Cemetery.
