Windford R. Lane

Lane, Windford R. “Sonny”, 75, Newton Hamilton, passed on July 20, 2023, surrounded by family at Hilltop Health Care & Rehab Center, Altoona. Born September 28, 1947, Shirleysburg, son of the late Cloyd and Luella (Hayes) Lane. Survived by his wife, Trudy D. (Sunderland) Lane; children, James Lane and wife Diane, Greenbrier; Jody Lane, Newton Hamilton; Jason Lane and wife, Juanita, Medera; Nicole Hollimon and husband, Thomas, Waynesboro; 14 grandchildren, several great grandchildren; brothers, Ross Lane and wife, Betty; Gary Brumbaugh, Max Hayes, Tony, and Dale Lane, and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by three daughters, Sandra, Crystal and Melissa Lane; sisters, Thelma, Jackie, Lillian, Susan and Winifred; brothers, Timothy and Jay. Windford was proud of his time served in the United States Army in Vietnam, and he was a life member of VFW Post 5754 Blue Juniata Memorial. Sonny enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and traveling with his wife. Friends and family will be received Thursday July 27, 2023, from 6 to 8pm and Friday July 28, 2023 from 10am to the 11am time of service at the funeral home, Sam Peck officiant, interment to follow with military honors at Newton Hamilton Cemetery.
