Wilbert I. McCartney Jr.

McCartney, Wilber I. “Bud” Jr., 59, Mount Union, passed away unexpectedly Sunday January 15, 2023, at home. Born June 24, 1963, Huntingdon, son of the late Wilbert I. Sr. and Hilda E. (Longenecker) McCartney. Survived by his loving companion of 40 years, Kathy Myers; children, Angel Wilson; and Jason Myers; 7 grandchildren, Triston, Kendyl and Cree Wilson; Kiersten, Austin, and Camdyn Myers; and Kane McCartney; siblings, Martha Eichelberger and husband, Kenneth; Peggy McCartney; Wilma Kelly and husband, Terry; and Jackie McCartney; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by his son, Wilbert I. “Buddy” McCartney III, and sister, Hilda McCartney. Bud was a 1982 graduate of Mount Union High School. He was mainly self-employed and enjoyed doing carpentry and construction work. Bud enjoyed driving truck with his father in his younger years. He loved to make people laugh and shoot a good game of billiards. He was a member of the Sons of Italy in Mount Union. Most of all he loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. Family and friends will be received on Saturday January 21, 2023, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m., at the funeral home, Adam Shawver, officiant.
