Yeager, Walter Earl “Gov”, 103, Orbisonia, passed away May 4, 2023, at Embassy at Woodland Park. Born March 12, 1920, Mapleton Depot, son of the late John and Edith (Miller) Yeager. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Audrey D. (Wakefield); daughter, Brenda Clark; 3 sisters, Edith Rhodes, Hazel Bell, and Ruth Heaster; 3 brothers, Bruce Yeager, Charles Yeager, Irvin Parks and infant brother, John. Survived by daughters, Beverly Herrmann and husband, Richard, Rochelle, IL; Barbara Raker and husband, Raymond, State College, PA; 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, and 4 step great grandchildren; sister, Mary Wise, Mapleton Depot, PA; and son-in-law, Gerald Clark, Mount Union, PA. Walter honorable served his country in the United States Army. He served during World War II in the European, African and European theaters. He was a member of the former United Presbyterian Church of Mapleton. Walter worked as a machinist at the US Silica retiring on March 31, 1985, after over 44 years of service. Walter was a life member of the Huntingdon VFW Post 1754, Mapleton American Legion Post 322, and Mapleton Volunteer Fire Company. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and rooting for the Cleveland Browns football team. Friends and family will be received on Monday, May 8, 2023, from 9:30am until the 11am funeral service at the funeral home, Rev. Beverly Skopic, officiant. Interment with military honors will follow in Mount Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mount Union Presbyterian Church, 2 E. Shirley St., Mount Union, PA. 17066. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 61 E.
