Violet E. Wertz, 92, McVeytown, passed away at home surrounded by the love of her family on June 20, 2026. Born March 15, 1934, daughter of the late Thomas and Myrtle (Kelley) Hardy she is also predeceased by husband, Lloyd Wertz, son, Leonard Wertz; daughter-in-law, Debbie Wertz, and one grandchild, Shannon Wertz. Mrs. Wertz is survived by sons, Stanley Wertz, Jeffrey Wertz, Tom Wertz; daughters, Connie (John), Stimely, Denise (Tom) Leonard; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Violet dedicated much of her life to caring for others, working as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and later as a cafeteria aide for MUSD. Her kindness, compassion, and willingness to help those around her left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was a faithful member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses in Huntingdon. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, tending to her beautiful outdoor flower gardens, and preparing delicious meals for family and friends. She found great joy in caring for others and was happiest when she could lend a helping hand. Above all, she cherished her family. She loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart and treasured every moment spent with them. She also enjoyed taking car rides, exploring new roads, and discovering new places along the way. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall in Huntingdon at the convenience of the family.
