Obituary

Snyder, Thelma M. passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at the Celebration Villa of Shippensburg. Daughter of the late Aubrey and Alfretta (Fix) Hoffman. She was also preceded in death by husband, Harold G. Snyder. Thelma is survived by sons, Marty (Grace) Snyder, Harold “Joe” (Sharon) Snyder; daughters, Penny Knepper, and Trudy (Guy) Snyder; and many grandchildren. Thelma’s greatest joy was caring for others in the simplest, most meaningful ways. She had a gift for cooking that went far beyond recipes—every meal she made was an expression of love. Whether it was a holiday feast, a quick bite shared on a busy day, or a pot of something warm simmering on the stove “just in case” someone stopped by, she fed people with her heart as much as her hands. She also had a natural instinct for nurturing life. Plants that others couldn’t keep alive seemed to thrive under her care. Her home was filled with vibrant greens and blooming colors, each one a quiet testament to her patience and gentle spirit. Country music was the soundtrack of her days, and she could never resist a good song with a steady beat. She loved to dance—sometimes with a partner, sometimes barefoot in her kitchen while stirring a pot—and those who loved her will always remember the way her smile lit up when her favorite tunes began to play. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and a love that showed itself in countless everyday moments. Her presence brought comfort, her laughter brought joy, and her generosity filled every room she entered. Services will be private at the request of the family with a private burial at Cherry Grove Cemetery, Three Springs. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 61 E. Shirley Street, Mount Union, “Honored Provider of Veterans Funeral Care TM.” Condolences may be made at AndersonFamilyFuneralHomes.com
