Obituary

Suzanne “Sue” Booher, 82, of Mount Union, passed away unexpectedly on June 27, 2026, at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown, Maryland. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Russell; her husband, Kerry; and two grandchildren, all of whom she joins once again. Suzanne is lovingly remembered by her children: Angie (Bob) Vincent, Drena (Bob) Doran, Janay (Cory) Shaw, and Troy (Deb) Booher, along with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who knew her as “Gram,” each one holding a special place in her heart. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, where she found friendship, laughter, and a strong sense of connection. She also faithfully attended Sugar Run Church of the Brethren, a place she deeply loved and where her faith and community meant a great deal to her. Many will remember her as the local girl who danced on American Bandstand, a memory she carried with pride throughout her life. Her love of dancing never faded. Whether in a grassy field, on a dance floor, or later with the help of her walker, she continued to move to the rhythm of life in her own way. She loved yard sales and thrift stores, always searching for unique finds and good bargains. She especially loved coming across a snowman, a find that always seemed to make her smile and something she never quite outgrew collecting. She could often be found beside her son Russell at Mt. Union baseball and football games, cheering on the Trojans with enthusiasm and pride. Those moments, filled with laughter and shared excitement, meant so much to her. Her life was marked by resilience, individuality, and the simple things that brought her happiness, leaving behind memories that will be held close by those who knew her. Friends and family will be received Monday, July 6, 2026, from 9:00 – 10:00 am in the Heath-Anderson Funeral Home, with a service at 10:00. Jonathan Whitsell, officiant. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 61 E. Shirley St., Mount Union, "Honored Provider of Veterans Funeral Care™."
