Shirley A. Wise

Wise, Shirley A., 81, Mapleton Depot, passed away October 31, 2019. Born August 11, 1938, Huntingdon, daughter of the late Henry and Helen (Richardson) Young. Preceded in death by her daughter, Leigh A. Baird, whom died on August 27, 2013; and brothers, Ronald and James Young. Survived by her loving husband, Richard C. Wise, whom she married on June 30, 1958; daughters, Joann M. Wise and companion, Jerry Janickey, Shirleysburg; Beth A. McNerlin and husband, Donald, Mill Creek; son, Michael S. Wise and companion, Jen Kitchen, Pottstown; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Young and wife, Janette, Mapleton Depot; sisters, Darlene Miller and husband, Richard; Brenda Swope, all of Huntingdon; and Linda Brumbaugh and husband, William, Cassville. Shirley was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was a past Sunday School Teacher. She was a 1956 graduate of Captain Jack High School. She worked for J.C. Blair Hospital as a Nurses Aide and Physical Therapy Aide for over 28 years. Shirley was an avid baseball fan, enjoying watching any game on tv. Most importantly she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends and family will be received Monday, November 4, 2019 from 9 a.m. until time of service at 12:30 p.m., Trinity United Methodist Church, 520 Grant St, Mapleton, PA, Pastor Michelle Price, officiant. Interment Mapleton IOOF Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made directly to the church.
