Raffensberger, Shirley J. (Renninger), 89, Mount Union, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Penn Highlands Huntingdon. Born October 14, 1935, daughter of the late Carl and Elsie (Oppel) Renninger of Allenport. She joins her late husband, Samuel C. Raffensberger, to whom she was married for 33 years. Additionally, she is preceded in death by siblings Raymond Renninger, Fred Renninger, Barry Renninger, and Nancy Renninger and great-granddaughter Sutton Bordell. She is survived by children, Carl “Rusty” (Regina “Jeannie”) Raffensberger, Barry (Martha “Marty”) Raffensberger, Todd (Wanda) Raffensberger, and Lori Raffensberger; grandchildren, Preston (Jess) Raffensberger, Brandee (Nick) Raffensberger, Tanisha (Chuck) Bordell, and Sam Raffensberger; great-grandchildren, Chayce, Gracie, Colby, Paisley, Harper, Stetson, Meredith, Rowen, and Haidlee; and sister Guila Shields. Shirley graduated from Captain Jack High School, Mount Union, class of 1953, and worked at G.C. Murphy & Co., Grief Manufacturing, and Weis Market, where she retired. She was a member of Allenport United Methodist Church. Shirley was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and was known for always caring about others' needs. She loved going on trips and attending the Bricktown Senior Center, where she enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Family and friends will be received on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 10:00 a.m until time of at 12:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Haven Rest Memorial Park, Shirleysburg.
