Hanes, Ruth Gwendolyn (Tressler), 91, Mount Union, passed away Saturday September 28, 2024, surrounded by her family at Penn Highlands DuBois. Born April 25, 1933, Howard, daughter of the late Fred and Madline (Markle) Tressler. Survived by children, Nancy Kumpf and husband, Guy; Clyde Edward Hanes and fiancé, Dusty; Dennis Leroy Hanes and fiancé, Patricia; and Steven Hanes; 10 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by a granddaughter, Leandra Hanes; and siblings, Betty, Geneve, Fred, Donald and Barry Joe. Ruth enjoyed taking walks, fishing and being outdoors. She loved playing cards, rip tickets and scratch-offs. She was a former member of the Mount Union Red Hats. Ruth loved birds and especially her bird, Joey. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family and grandchildren. Family and friends will be received on Thursday October 3, 2024, from 10 a.m. until 12 noon for a visitation.
