Ronald J. Szymala

Szymala, Ronald J., 73, Cambria Care Center, Ebensburg, formerly of Cresson, went home to be with the Lord, September 4, 2018. Born September 20, 1944, in Cresson, son of Joseph A. and Josephine A. (Hovanec) Szymala. Preceded in death by his loving parents and numerous other family members. Survived by numerous cousins and extended relatives. Ron was a 1965 graduate of Penn State University, earning his associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked as a draftsman/designer for companies that made machine tools for the automotive industry and machinery products. Ron was a member of the National Institute for the Certification of Engineering Technologies (NICET). He was also a member of St. Francis Xavier Church, Cresson, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated September 7, 12:30 p.m., Fr. Matthew Reese, celebrant. Burial St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church Cemetery. At Ronald’s request, there will be a private family viewing. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made to the Cresson Food Pantry, 115 Ashcroft Ave, Cresson, in memory of Ron.
