Ronald E. Matthews, 74, McVeytown, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born April 25, 1952, in McVeytown son of the late Benjamin and Dorothy (Boone) Matthews. In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by one grandchild and five siblings. Mr. Matthews was united in marriage to Cindy (States) Matthews. Mrs. Matthews survives at home. Additionally, Ronald is survived by daughters, Tammy Erwin, Diane (Jamie) Lane; son Ron (April) Matthews Jr.; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and five siblings. In Ronald’s free time he was an avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed trapping, playing the guitar, camping along the Juniata River and spending time with friends and family, especially the great-grandchildren. Friends and family will be received Friday, June 19, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in the Heath-Anderson Funeral Home with a funeral service at 12:00 p.m., his nephew, Jeff Hoover, officiant.
