Henry, Roger Lee, 74, Hill Valley, passed away Thursday August 17, 2023, at home. Born January 29, 1949, Mill Creek, son of the late Frank and Betty (Bowser) Henry. Surviving at home are his loving wife, Penny (Aurand) Henry; daughter, Melinda Henry and Della. Also survived by 5 grandchildren, Korey, Brandon, Kayla, Emily and Hannah; 12 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Gene, Texas; Robert “Dinx”, Huntingdon; and Kevin Henry, West Virginia. Preceded in death by his sons, Rob Henry and Justin Henry. Roger was a 1966 graduate of Huntingdon Area High School. He went on to honorably serve his country in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam. After the Marines Roger joined the Pennsylvania National Guard where he would serve until retirement from the United States Army Reserves. Roger was employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections as a corrections officer for SCI Huntingdon. He was passionate about golf and enjoyed being outdoors. Roger was a youth baseball coach for over 20 years. In his “retirement” he worked as an assembler at Wal Mart in Huntingdon. Roger was a member of the American Legion Country Club and the Simpson Hunt American Legion Post 107. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday August 22, 2023, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m., at the funeral home, Joseph Barrett, officiant. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 61 E.
