Obituary

Robert Painter, 96, of Mount Union, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2026, at the Embassy at Woodland Park, Orbisonia. Born October 26, 1929, son of the late Paul and Myrtle (Barron) Painter. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by all of his siblings, Lester “Lep” Painter, Orlando “Crud” Painter, Thelma Myers Stevens, Lois Price, Doris Miller, and Donna Ramsey. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. Robert was a dedicated businessman, veteran, and longtime member of his community. He was the co-owner of Big A Auto Parts and was a former banker with Union National Bank and Trust. A proud graduate of Captain Jack High School, Class of 1949, he went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Army as a radar operator. He was a faithful member of Pentecostal Freedom Church and was a member of American Legion Post 107 and VFW Post 5754. He was also a charter member of the Allenport Lions Club and formerly served as a director of Mount Union Chamber of Commerce. Throughout his life, he gave generously of his time and talents to his community and the organizations he held dear. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his community, and his country, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Family and friends will be received Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 10:00 – 11:00 in the Heath-Anderson Funeral Home. Military Honors and Service at 11:00. Rev. Dean Ramsey, Jr., officiant.
