Robert L. Hicks

Hicks, Robert L., 86, Mifflintown, passed away January 25, 2022, at home. Born March 5, 1935, Huntingdon, son of the late Lester and Edie (Hess) Hicks. Preceded in death by loving wife, Nellie E. (Dziedzic) Hicks; and brothers, Tom, George, Sam and Lanny Hicks. Survived by children, Debra Hicks and life partner, Burnell Bennings, McChanicsville MD; Joseph Hicks and wife, Lisa, Shirleysburg; David Hicks and wife, Sharon, Mifflintown; 4 grandchildren, Levi Hicks and wife, Ashlee, Shirleysburg; Bethany Shoemaker and husband, Shawn, Mount Union; Logan Hoy and husband, Nathan, Duncannon; Garrett Hicks and wife, Alexis, Mifflintown; 2 greatgrandchildren, Kenzie Shoemaker and Jagger Hicks; siblings, Cecil Hicks, Mount Union; and Berty Ashman, Dagsboro DE. Robert worked at Henkel & McCoy, Griffith Oil, JLG Industries, Dave Hicks Construction and KSM Log Homes over the course of his life. He was a past member of the Newton Wayne Fire Police, an honorary member of the Mount Union Fire Department, and the Mifflin County Fire Police Association. Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, and helping others. He had a soft spot for his fury companion, Oreo, but most of all he loved to spend time with his family and friends. Friends and family will be received on Saturday February 5, 2022, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1:30 p.m., at the Mount Union Wesleyan Church, Pastor Dan Metz, officiant.
