Robert “Bobby” Emery left his temporary home for his eternal, heavenly home on Monday, July 31, 2023. Bobby was born on November 25, 1949, to the late Robert and Dorothy (Harman) Emery. He married his beautiful bride, Doris (Wood) Emery, on November 29, 1975. In addition to his wife, Bobby is survived by his children: Seth (Chris) Emery and Lori (Scott) Clark, three granddaughters: Jenna Clark, Abigail Emery, and Olivia Emery; three sisters: Anna Margaret (Bernard) Parrish, Virginia Singer, and Susan Fisher, and many other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother. Bobby was a faithful follower of Christ and devoted much time to his church, Cedar Crest Independent Baptist Church, serving as a deacon for many years. He also served the Lord at Bible to Youth Camp, which is where he and Doris met. Bobby proudly served in Vietnam in the US Army. When he returned, he worked at Letterkenny Army Depot as a warehouse supervisor for over twenty years. Bobby was a dedicated hunter, even building a hunting spot endearingly called the “Taj Mahal.” He enjoyed hunting with his son, Seth, and many family and friends over many years at his in-law’s home in Clearfield County. Bobby liked sports and served as a coach for MU Little League when Seth played baseball. No matter whether it was coaching, watching from the sidelines, watching on TV, listening to the radio, or reading the sports section, Bobby enjoyed sports. During the last 12 years of his life, Bobby slowly deteriorated from Alzheimer’s Disease. Regardless of the circumstances, God blessed the family with many special memories throughout these years. The family would like to thank the nurses, aides, and staff of Embassy of Woodland Park who loved and cared for Bobby during the last seven and a half years of his life. Friends and family will be received on Monday August 7, 2023, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again on Tuesday August 8, 2023, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m., at the funeral home, Pastor Brian Barrett, officiant. Interment to follow at Mount Union Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials for camp scholarships can be sent to Cedar Crest Independent Baptist Church at 106 Pin Oak Lane, Mt. Union, PA 17066. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 61 E. Shirley St., Mount Union, “Honored Provider of Veterans Funeral Care™.” Condolences may be made at AndersonFamilyFuneralHomes.com.
