Raymond W. Jordan, Jr., 97, Hickory, NC, formerly of Greensburg, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Carolina Caring, Newton, NC. Born September 18, 1926, Greensburg, son of the late Raymond W. Sr. and Celesta M. (Eckels) Jordan. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy (Wendell) Jordan; brothers, Richard E. and Herbert F. Jordan; sister, Eleanor J. Jackson; and son-in-law, Dr. William C. Thompson III. Survived by his daughter, Cori (Jordan) Thompson, Hickory, NC; son, Raymond W. Jordan and his wife, Debbie, Greensburg; 4 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members. Ray lived in Greensburg for most of his life. After his wife passed, he moved to Hickory, NC to live with his daughter and family. He enjoyed these last years spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His favorite place to spend time was the front porch rocking chair. So many friends and neighbors would wave or stop by to chat. He loved family dinners, but often would turn his hearing aides off to drown out the chaos! He will be remembered for his sharp mind, love of family and most importantly, his love of Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior. We know he is safely “Home.” At Raymond’s request, there will be no viewing or services. Private burial at Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg.
