Glass, Phyllis D. “Peaches”, 92, went home to be with the Lord October 2, 2026, at Saint Benedict Manor, St. Benedict, PA. Born November 21, 1933, Lilly, daughter of the late Clarence M. and Zeta V. (Aurandt) Leap. Peaches was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Gerald Glass, whom she spent over 50 wonderful years with. Also preceded in death by siblings, Mary Lou Shroder, Sarah “Fritzie” Knapp, Eleanor “Jane” Tortoriello, Joanne Leap, an infant brother and several nieces and nephews. Peaches is survived by her daughter, Ginger Glass; numerous loving nieces and nephews who enjoyed their summers immensely with their young-hearted aunt, and many friends and their children that she considered her own. Peaches worked for several years at the Gallitzin shirt factory as a line worker before devoting her time to her family as a homemaker. Peaches proudly took care of her husband for many years before his passing. Her kind nature also extended beyond family; she was known to love and care for all children. When she was not spending time with her family and friends, Peaches was also dedicated to helping veterans any way she could. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and the Lilly American Legion. She also volunteered with her community by selling poppies at the War Memorial in Lilly and helping with annual Memorial Day dinners. Peaches had a love for traveling, especially with her sisters. She visited almost all 50 states and 7 countries in Europe, including Germany and Poland. When not traveling, Peaches was also devoted to her faith. She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Lilly and was involved in the Women’s Lutheran Religious Organization. Peaches will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 1 p.m., St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Lilly, Jack Seymore, officiating. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.
