Phyllis J. Headings, 78, of Orbisonia, entered into eternal rest September 14, 2026, at her residence surrounded by her family. Born September 21, 1947, in Huntingdon, PA. Daughter of the late Luther Harry Casner and Leona Nellie Sullivan. In addition to her parents Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Headings and long-time companion Ben Casner; sister, Barbara Nace; brother, Max Casner. Ms. Headings is survived by cousin, Raymond (Tammie) Sullivan; brother-in-law, Wade Nace; sister-in-law, Carol Casner; grand-nephews Colby Prough, Tavis Witmer; along with numerous cousins. Phyllis proudly served in the United States Air Force where she served as Sergeant. She was a devoted Christian whose faith in God was a guiding light throughout her life. She found great comfort in her relationship with the Lord and shared her kindness, love, and gentle spirit with all who knew her. She enjoyed the simple blessings of life, especially bird watching and spending time with her beloved cats. Her cat, Smokey, held a particularly special place in her heart and was a cherished companion. Friends and Family will be received at the St. Luke’s United Methodist Church of Shade Gap, 11691 Circle St, Shade Gap, PA, on Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 P.M. with a memorial service at 2:00 P.M. Pastor Patricia Hall, officiant. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Phyllis’s memory to St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 61 E. Shirley St., Mount Union, “Honored Provider of Veterans Funeral Care™.” Condolences may be made at AndersonFamilyFuneralHomes.com.
