McCarty, Patrick L. "Pat", 76, Lilly, passed away on Jan. 20, 2017 at UPMC Altoona, surrounded by his family. Born Dec. 19, 1940, in Cresson, son of the late Warren and Alice (Foley) McCarty. Preceded in death by brothers, Frank, Donald and Jim, and sister, Helen Eger. Survived by loving wife of 55 years, Carol "Boots" (Risban); and children: Peggy, married to Chris Conrad, Lilly; John, and friend, Mary Lou Moschgat, Cresson; Janet, married to Don Franey, Lilly; Denise, married to Jeff Miller, Ashville; Pat, married to Kelly (Maul), Portage; Joanna, and special friend, Dusty, Altoona; also 14 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren, with 2 on the way this year. Brother of Peg Eberhart, Cresson; and Kathleen Compardo; and Bill McCarty, both of Lilly. Also survived by special friend, Tim McGarry, and his dog, Nala. Pat enjoyed spending quality family time with his children and grandchildren, pitching horseshoes, and socializing with friends. Member of Lilly American Legion, GBU, and Lilly PNA. Formerly employed at Cooney Bros. Coal Company. Pat took special pride in his lawn and yard work. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Family and friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Charles M. Kennedy Funeral Home, Cresson, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of the Alleghenies Church, Lilly, Msgr. John Sasway. Committal, St. Brigid's cemetery. www.cmkennedyfh.com
