Patricia Roseann Laney

Laney, Patricia Roseann "Pat", 79, Cresson, died March 13, 2016, at Golden Living Center-Hillview, Altoona. Born Feb. 26, 1937, in Portage Twp., daughter of the late Charles and Esther (Crum) Moyer. Preceded in death by husband, Norman Ford, on June 1, 1997, and infant grandson, Raymond. Survived by children; Jacqueline Rose(Richard), Windber; Norma Doorbal(Michael), Pensacola, Fla.; Mark Laney, Benscreek; Arlene Dunmyer(Terry), Cresson; and Joseph Laney, Cresson; grandsons: Brian and David Rose; Michael and Christopher Doorbal; and Brad and Christopher Dunmyer; and great-grandchildren: Gavin Dunmyer, Sienna Doorbal and West Quinn. Sister of Janet Eichenlaub, Silver Spring, Fla.; and Sharon Landon(Lester), New Brunswick, N.J. Pat worked as a home health aide with Community Nursing Service, Johnstown for several years and was a volunteer Foster Grandmother. In April, 1998, she was featured in the local newspaper as an active senior. She was a foster grandmother at the Cambria County Detention Center and Emergency Shelter Care Facility. The center administrator wrote that the children at this facility usually have no one and no place to go. Pat offered them one-one-one assistance in dealing with their needs. Family and friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m Thursday at Charles M. Kennedy Funeral Home, Cresson, where service will be held at 4 p.m., Rev. David McCabe.
