Patricia E. Atherton, 79, of McVeytown, went to be with our Lord and Savior, April 1, 2026, in her home. Born July 26, 1946, in Mount Union, daughter of the late William “Bill” and Eva Morgan. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings; grandson, Tyler Atherton; and her son, Scott Atherton in February of this year. Patsy is survived by loving husband Glenn “Scott” Atherton; two children; Adam, Daniel (Amanda); 12 grandchildren, Kristen (Kenny), Kylie (Tyler), Kassandra (Curt), Katlyn (Casey), Kaleb, Madeline (Sage), Claire, Julia, Jake, Benjamin, Luke, Sophie; and 16 great-grandchildren, and daughter-in-law, Jennifer Atherton. Patsy graduated from Captain Jack in 1965; she then married the love of her life September 11 of that same year. For sixty years, she has loved her husband with a steadfast, unwavering devotion that deepened with each passing day. Patsy spent 30 years working for First National Bank in Mount Union. She and her husband have been members of Cedar Crest Independent Baptist Church since it was established in 1968. She was a great example of a strong Christian woman, she loved her family and sweet friends, and her kitty “Smokey.” She will be greatly missed by many. Friends and family will be received Friday, April 3, 2026, from 4:00 – 8:00 in the Heath- Anderson Funeral home and Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 10:00 – 12:00 until time of service at 12:00.
