Nellie Rosemond Lewis

Nellie Rosemond Lewis, beloved mother and grandmother passed away unexpectedly on August 23, 2023, at the age of 74. Nellie was born on March 12, 1949, to the late Daisy A and Malakia Jackson Sr. and grew up in Mount Union with her brothers, sisters and a host of cousins and extended family. Nellie graduated from Captain Jack High School. She met and married Charles Henry Lewis Jr. To this union two children were born. Nellie was employed for several years at Owens Corning Fiberglass. She also worked for SCI and most recently Head Start. Nellie loved coffee. She enjoyed Starbucks and knitting and crocheting baby blankets for new arrivals to the family. Nellie shared a special relationship with her niece Dawn “Tweety” Jackson who made herself available to take Nellie to appointments and shopping. Nellie is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Henry Lewis Jr.; siblings, Malakia Jackson Jr. , Daisy Mae Jackson and Helen J. Rogers. Nellie leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Cynthia D. Lewis, Wauwatosa, WI, and Bernard E. Lewis, Washington D.C.; siblings, Charles Jackson (Carol), Mount Union; and Cynthia Jones, Harrisburg; 5 grandchildren, Brittany Perkins, William Perkins IV (Kyandre), and Travis Perkins, all of Killeen TX; Hunter Spagnoletti, Worcester MA; and Anthony Spagnoletti Lewis, Washington D.C.; 3 great grandchildren, Taylor McNealey, Lauren McNealey, Milwaukee, WI; and Hunter Spagnoletti Jr., Worcester MA. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday August 29, 2023, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon, at the funeral home, Pastor Sylvia Morris, officiant.
