Nancy L. Bittner, 86, of Todd, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 7, 2026, surrounded by her family in the comfort of her home. Born February 26, 1940, daughter of the late Robert and Lillian (Roberts) Hammer. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Sam Terry Bittner, with whom she shared 46 years of marriage. Nancy is survived by daughters, Tammy (Doug) Carowick, Holly (Jill Benjamin) Bittner, Cathy (Tom) Hartzell, Lisa (Seth) Diehl. She is also survived by her sisters, Terry Dubetz and Cathy Henry. Nancy has the following grandsons, Zachary (Victoria) Eastman, Noah (Francesca) Eastman, Seth (Nicole) Eastman, Terry (Sarah) Carowick, Ahsim Carowick, Ahs’sad Carowick, Robert Carowick, Jayden Carowick and Hunter Diehl. As well as the following granddaughters, Danielle (Matthew) Orenshaw, Samantha (Dan) Kraft, Hilary (Philip) Weller, Kelsea (James) Baumgarten, Sarah Hartzell, Ciara Carowick, Laynee Carowick. Nancy was also blessed to have the following great grandchildren: great- grandsons, Benjamin, Brandton, Landon, Elijah, Ezekiel, Clayton and great- granddaughters, Lillian, Reagan, Charlotte, Amelia, Emma, Louise, Parker, Eilla, Ellie, and Raelyn. Nancy worked as a manager at the Weis Store, where she was dedicated to her work and the people she served. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing and cooking, and completing word find puzzles. She always found joy in creating things with her hands and preparing delicious meals for those she loved. She was an avid Hallmark Christmas Movies fan. Above all, her family was her greatest priority. She was especially devoted to her grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with them. Her love, guidance, and unwavering support will remain a cherished part of their lives. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the Trough Creek Valley Community Church, 19802 Sugar Run Rd, Todd PA. The family will receive visitors beginning at 10 AM and the service will begin at 11 AM. Because Nancy loved our community, the family has requested that donations be made in lieu of flowers to the following: Trough Creek Valley Community Church, 365 Hospice or RAISEtown Care Connect (formerly PRIDE). Arrangements have been entrusted to Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 61 E. Shirley St., Mount Union, "Honored Provider of Veterans Funeral Care™."
