Michael R.
Lawler
Jul 13, 1946 — Aug 16, 2026
Alexandria
Michael R. Lawler, 80, of Alexandria, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born July 13, 1946, at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, he was the son of Richard and Mary Lawler and grew up in Trevose, Pennsylvania. Mike was a proud Vietnam War veteran who served in the United States Marine Corps with the 1st Marine Division, 1st Battalion, 1st Marines, as an S-2 Scout with Alpha Company. His fellow Marines (USMC 1-1-1 pals) and brothers in arms remained very dear to him throughout his life. Mike was a gifted storyteller, a brilliant problem solver, teacher, visionary, carpenter, dreamer, jokester, and one of the most positive people anyone could know. His stories and wild spirit brought laughter and joy to all who knew him. Above all, Mike treasured his family. He was the loving husband of Brenna, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage, and a devoted father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his wife, Brenna; his children, Jennifer (Chuck), Michael, Cody (Robyn), Chelsea, and Mary; his grandchildren, Tiba, Ellis, and Sylvie; his siblings, Patrick (Rosemarie), Raymond (Donna), Daniel (Ruth), Kathleen (Robert), and Virginia; and many loving family members and friends. Mike found great happiness at his mountain property, where he could often be found relaxing on his favorite bench (the one he and his father stole from the Trevose Train Station), spending time at his Hooch, or puttering around in his garden. He will be remembered in the rustle of the aspen trees, the calls of the whippoorwills and turkeys, and the sound of the babbling stream he loved so much. Mike’s loving spirit, stories, laughter, and unforgettable personality will live on in all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever carried in the hearts of his family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 61 E. Shirley St., Mount Union, "Honored Provider of Veterans Funeral Care™."
