Max J. Gaisior Sr.

Gaisior, Max J. Sr., 96, McVeytown, passed away Monday July 24, 2023, at Greenwood Village, Lewistown. Born September 28, 1926, Vineyard Station, son of the late Joseph and Catherine (Walcyzk) Gaisior. Survived by his loving wife, Esther C. (Kauffman) Gaisior; children, Max Gaisior Jr. and wife, Traci; and Richard Gaisior; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Preceded in death by a son, Scott Gaisior; and siblings, Ralph Gaisior, Mary Schucker, Louie Gaisior, Ann Sherinski, Johnny Gaisior, Steve Gaisior, Julie Wagner, Francie Thomas and Edward Gaisior. Max was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Mount Union. Max was a Mount Union High School graduate. Following school, he honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. He was employed by Pennsylvania Glass then later U.S. Silica, Standard Steel before retiring from Overhead Door. Max loved traveling with his wife and taking bus trips and cruises. He was an avid hunter and fisherman—especially fishing for walleye. Max was a 4^th Degree Knights of Columbus and a member of the Atkinson Mills Sportsmen’s Club. Family and friends will be received on Monday July 31, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. for a visitation prior to mass at 10 a.m. at St. Catherine’s of Siena Catholic Church, 203 W. Market St. Mount Union, PA 17066. Interment to follow at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Shirleysburg. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 61 E.
