Maurice H. Stidfole

Stidfole, Maurice H. “Moe”, 84, McVeytown, passed away December 23, 2021, at home surrounded by his family. Born February 25, 1937, Lewistown, son of the late William and Marie (Stackhouse) Stidfole. Survived by a loving wife of 65 years, Linda D. (Havice) Stidfole; children, Laurinda Shafer and husband, Robert; William Stidfole and wife, Lori; and Maurine Hockenberry and husband, Jason, all of McVeytown; 6 grandchildren, Carrie, William, Stephanie, Mason, Mallory, and Monroe; 7 great grandchildren, Bryton, Landen, Callie, Kade, Karma, Kale and Koa. Preceded in death by siblings, Marie Sunday, Sue Stewart, “Dot” Dunn, William Stidfole, and infant, John Stidfole; nephew, Paul Kurtz; and granddaughter-in-law, Heather Stidfole. Moe served as a teacher for the Southern Huntingdon County School District for 35 years. He was the former president of the School Education Association. Moe liked sports and was a coach of Southern Huntingdon wrestling and football. He was monumental in the formation of the school's wrestling program in 1970. Moe also enjoyed farming but most of all he loved to spend time with his family. At the request of Maurice and the family there will be no services.
