Mary Louise (Duvall) Laird, 79, of Huntingdon, passed away unexpectedly on August 27, 2026, at Penn Highlands, Huntingdon. Daughter of the late Lee and Florence (Foore) Duvall. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, David F. Hess and her second husband, Robert Laird; brothers, Joseph Duvall, William E. Duvall; sisters, Susan Hogle, Doris Bowers, and Julia Lemin. Mary is survived by daughters, Florence (James) Baker, Carol (Christopher) Laughlin, Margaret (Bill) Pyles; sons, David (Tara) Hess, Matthew (Sherry) Laird; brother, Mike Duvall; sisters, Peg Duvall, Darlene Brown; 12 Grandchildren, 32 Great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Earlier in life, Mary worked as a yarn maker at Kenntex, where she dedicated many years of her life to her work. Mary was a devoted and caring woman who found great joy in helping others. She was dedicated to her church, where she faithfully served as a parishioner of the Ardenheim Independent Brethren Church of Huntingdon for 20 years and made a lasting impact on those around her. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and was known for her generous heart. She enjoyed decorating and took great pride in organizing family reunions, bringing loved ones together and creating lasting memories. She also enjoyed attending auctions and loved spending time with her beloved pets, especially her cherished 18-year-old cat, Dusty. Friends and family will be received Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 4:00 – 8:00 and Friday September 4, 2026, from 10:00-11:00 with a service at 11:00. Pastor Dakota Hammon, officiant.
