Melley, Martin G. “Herky”, 79, Linthicum, MD, went home to be with the Lord, August 12, 2018 at Gilchrist Center, Towson, MD. Born January 20, 1939, Cresson, son of the late Edward and Mary (Madigan) Melley. Preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Survived by his wife, Marie Gail; son, David Melley and wife, Laurie, Grasonville, MD; daughter, Amy VanOrden and husband, Max, Parkton, MD; 7 grandchildren; sister, Mary J. Adams and husband, Francis, Cresson; brother, Lawrence Melley and wife, Ellen, Lewes, DE; and numerous other family members. Herky was the owner of a food service company, Berkel Inc. He was a member of the Boys and Girls Club and enjoyed refereeing basketball. Friends and family will be received Tuesday, August 14 from 4-7 p.m. at Kennedy-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, where funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 15 at 4 p.m., Rev. Malachi Van Tassell, celebrant. Interment St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Cresson. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the University of Maryland, Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center, Dr. Rapoport’s Research Program, 22 S. Greene St., Baltimore, MD 21201.
