Obituary

Horne, Marlin Edward “Ed”, 81, Huntingdon, passed away Saturday November 5, 2022, at Penn Highlands Huntingdon. Born September 16, 1941, Mount Union, son of the late William S. and Nellie (McMullen) Horne. Survived by his loving wife, Erna (Ittner) Horne, whom he married on September 6, 1963, in Augsburg, Germany. Also survived by his children, Cindy LaVella and husband, Rick, Elysburg; and Lisa Horne and fiancé, Wayne Anna, Tipton; granddaughter, Kayla LaVella, State College; and sister, Barbara Vaughan, Chambersburg. Preceded in death by siblings, Violet Morton, Kathryn Black, Kenneth Horne, Rhoda Baldwin, Jane James, Dorothy Houser, Herbert Horne, Eugene Horne and infant brother, William Horne. Marlin was a member of the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Huntingdon. He honorably served his country in the United States Army. Marlin began his career at U.S. Silica in Mount Union and retired in 2007 after 42 years of service. He loved to spend time with his family and grandchild. Marlin enjoyed being outdoors and liked hunting, fishing, biking rails to trails and traveling. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Family and friends will be received on Thursday November 10, 2022, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 10 a.m., at the funeral home, Father Joseph Fleming, officiant. Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery, Mill Creek, with military honors. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 524 Mifflin Street Huntingdon, PA 16652.
