Hanlon, Margaret J., 80, Cresson, passed away at home on August 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born March 19, 1945, in Cresson, daughter of the late Francis and Ruth (Eckenrode) Glass. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, and infant son, Joseph. Survived by six children; Mary Ann (Erik), Cheryl (Rodney) Jennifer, Raeann, Roy (Katie), and Patrick. Margaret was the proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren; Daniel, Evette, Thomas, Kyle, Todd, Sabrina, Dominick, Brandon, Avery, Beau, Ryan, Ella, Teddi, and Drew; and 3 great-grandchildren, Ethan, Taylor, and Max. Margaret grew up in Cresson and attended Cresson Joint High School. In 1965, she married Raymond Leroy Hanlon and together they raised six children. She spent her early years as a stay-at-home mother before beginning work at Saint Francis College. While employed there, she earned her associate’s degree in library science at the University of Maine at Augusta. After her children completed their college educations, she retired to pursue traveling and personal interests. Margaret was also a devoted member of the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel, Loretto. Margaret took great pride in her flower gardens and had a passion for sewing and quilting. She shared a love of fitness with her children and grandchildren, often joining them in running races and events like the Sweat for Vets, New York City Five-Borough Bike Tour, and the Freedom Ride in Tyrone, just to name a few. Friends and family will be received Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 8:00 -10:00 a.m., Anderson Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cresson, followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Basilia of St. Michael the Archangel, Loretto, the Very Rev. John Byrnes celebrant. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make an appointment with a dermatologist for a full body skin check.
