Margaret M. "Marge" Della

Della, Margaret M. "Marge",85, Cresson, died unexpectedly at her residence early Tuesday morning, May 3, 2016. Born November 11, 1930, in Glen White, daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Burick) Plutko. Preceded in death by brothers, Joseph Jr., Francis "Moose", and Steve. She married Donald Della on April 9, 1954. Surviving are her husband; daughters: Yvonne (Gene) Merritts, Altoona; and Barbara Rotunda, Pittsburgh; and son, Donald A. Della (Julie), Cresson; grandchildren: Doug (Kim) Merritts; and Gina Merritts, both of Altoona; Christopher Rotunda, St. Petersburg, Florida; Alyson Rotunda, Austin, Texas; and Katie, Anthony and Josephine Della, of Cresson. Also survived by sister, Rose Ciavarella, Altoona. Margaret worked in the Vincent Horowitz Shoe Factory, Altoona, and then stayed at home to raise her children. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Cresson, and was deeply devoted to her faith. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, talking on the phone with family and friends, and reading. Margaret was a devoted wife, and a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She could always be counted on to make you laugh with her spunk, jokes and quick wit. Margaret was an excellent cook, and visitors were always welcomed around her table. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Family and friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Charles M. Kennedy Funeral Home, Cresson, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Msgr. Bernard Przybocki.
