Marcia A. Whitsel

Whitsel, Marcia Ann (Shank), 87, Hill Valley, Huntingdon Co., PA, passed away after an extended illness on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Graystone Manor, Huntingdon PA. Born January 6, 1937, Huntingdon, daughter of the late Martin and Mildred (David) Shank. Marcia was preceded in death by her husband, of sixty-three years, Benjamin “Ben” Franklin Whitsel; sister, Lois Shafer; brothers, Ted Shank and Richard “Dick” Shank; and stepbrother Martin “Marty” Shank. Survived by sons, Matthew Whitsel and wife, Ellen of Hill Valley; Adam Whitsel and wife, Yvette, Mechanicsburg; grandson, Michael Whitsel, Mechanicsburg; stepbrother, Carl Lee Shank, Alexandria; and numerous nieces and nephews. Marcia attended Captain Jack High School in Mount Union. She was a member of the Sugar Run Church of the Brethren. Marcia enjoyed painting, sewing, cooking and feeding the birds. There will be no viewing or visitation. Interment will be at the convenience of the family at the Monroe Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Huntingdon County Humane Society, Sugar Run Church of the Brethren or Huntingdon County Habitat for Humanity.
