James, Lillian S., 88, Sankertown, passed away June 25, 2021 at home. Born Feb. 5, 1933, Cresson, daughter of the late Ray F. and Dorothy E. (Howe) Patterson. Preceded in death by husband, Clarence A. James, Sr.; son, Richard Samuel; son-in-law, Douglas Campbell; daughter-in-law, Lauri James; great-grandchildren, George Heit V and Sierra Nihart; brothers, Ray F. Jr., Richard and Rodger Patterson; and sister, Penny Patterson. Survived by children: Dorothy Campbell; Clarence A. Jr. (Darlene); and Rodger, all of Grand Rapids, Michigan; Ray (Lynn), Gallitzin; Sally Illig (James), Cresson; Joseph (Stephanie), Gallitzin; Michael (Rose), Vintondale; Gina Nihart (James), Ebensburg; Marcelle Benbrahim (Bassem), Ebensburg; and Patrick (Annette), Phillipsburg; 61 grandchildren; 81 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; brother, Joseph Patterson (Mary), Cresson; and sister, Marcelle Miller, Ohio; and Frances Ferguson, Gallitzin; sisters-in-law, Minta James and Shirley Bidwell (Lyle), all of Ludington, Michigan; and Nellie Todd, Wade, Colorado. Lillian retired from the Ebensburg Center in 1992. She enjoyed watching the Price is Right, sitting outside on her porch, and watching the little league baseball games from her home. Most importantly she loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, family and friends. At Lillian’s request, there will be no viewing or visitation. Memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday, July 2, 2021 at 11 a.m., The Basilica of St. Michael, Loretto, the Very Rev. Father John D. Byrnes, celebrant.
