Laura W. Copenhaver

Copenhaver, Laura (Wasson), 75, Mount Union, went to be with the Lord on November 2, 2022, at home surrounded by her family. Born June 7, 1947, Huntingdon, daughter of the late Lorraine “LA” and Edna (Claycomb) Wasson. Survived by her loving husband, James E. Copenhaver Sr.; son, James E. Copenhaver Jr. and wife, Betsy; 2 grandchildren, James E. Copenhaver III and wife, Laura; and Mirah K. Teague and husband, Nathan; 2 great grandchildren, Oaklyn G. and Olivia J. Copenhaver; brother, Leroy Wasson and wife, Sue; and sister, Beverly States and late husband, John. Preceded in death by nephew whom she helped raise, Robert “Bob” Wasson Sr.; and great granddaughter, Maddison Kae Copenhaver. Laura was a 1965 graduate of Captain Jack High School. After graduation she attended IBM School in Delaware. She was employed by First National Bank and Dalco Sewing Factory. Laura retired from Zimmerman Truck Lines after driving over the road with her husband. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary Blue Juniata VFW Post 5754. Laura enjoyed being around her family and friends and her cat pretty girl. She was known for her loving heart and passion for taking care of others. Laura liked feeding the birds and sweeping her driveway. Family and friends will be received on Friday November 4, 2022, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday November 5, 2022, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m., at the funeral home, Pastor Rich Hamman, officiant.
