Harker, Larry J., 82, Mount Union, went to be with the Lord June 18, 2022, at Embassy at Woodland Park. Born January 3, 1940, Pogue, son of the late James Harker and Viola (Jacka) Bowen. Preceded in death by stepmother Ann (Petron) Harker and stepfather, Samuel Bowen. Survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Edna R. (Miller) Harker, whom he married on June 20, 1970, in Mapleton; children, Ruth Ann Gearhart-Livingston and husband, Bill, Alexandria; Darryl D. Walter and wife, Liz, Montoursville; Susan Todaro and husband, Frank, Mount Union; Charles L. Lender and wife, Barb, Mountain Grove Missouri; and Greg Lender and fiancé, Marie, Calvin; 14 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren; half brothers, Kenneth Harker and wife, Michele and Jeff Harker and wife, Shawnee. Larry was of the Methodist Faith and loved God and attending church. He was a member of the Allenport United Methodist Church. Larry worked for the Huntingdon Daily News for over 40 years. He enjoyed watching football and cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Larry liked listening to country music, Elvis, and hymns. He was good at gardening and planting trees. Most of all Larry loved to spend time with his family and friends, especially any family gatherings. Friends and family will be received on Wednesday June 22, 2022, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Thursday June 23, 2022, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon, at the funeral home, Pastor Jerry Wise, officiant. Interment to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Shade Gap. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 61 E. Shirley St., Mount Union.
