Roddy, Kenneth R., 91, Huntingdon and formerly of Mount Union, passed away Saturday May 13, 2023, at Westminster Woods, Huntingdon. Born June 27, 1931, Huntingdon, son of the late Kenneth B. and Margaret M. (Rice) Roddy. Survived by his loving wife, Eva C. (Lennartz) Roddy; children, Karen A. Roddy, Kathryn D. Roddy, Paul R. Roddy, Charles D. Roddy and Helmut Kurt Roddy. Preceded in death by his parents and son, Kenneth B. Roddy II. Mr. Roddy was a graduate of Captain Jack High School. After school he joined the United States Air Force. Upon his honorable discharge he continued his education at Florida Southern College for his bachelor’s degree then to West Virginia University where he obtained his master’s degree. Mr. Roddy was always interested in education and different subjects, often taking correspondence courses and reading books. He retired from Mount Union Area School District as a teacher after 31 years of service. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching westerns and writing. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, May 18, 2023, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Friday, May 19, 2023, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m., at the funeral home, Fr. Joseph Fleming, officiant. A private interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Gardens, Lewistown. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 61 E.
