Kay Strayer

Kay Strayer, 77, Three Springs, passed away Tuesday January 24, 2023, at Penn Highlands, Huntingdon. Born May 10, 1945, Harrisburg, daughter of the late William L. and Phyllis (Crawford) Gilbert. Surviving are her four children, Ernest I Kreider Jr. and wife Stormy F. Kissinger of Huntingdon; Melissa Kay Walker and husband Ronald H.Walker Jr. of Three Springs; Marie Resh of East Petersburg; and Duane E. Kreider and wife Judy of Shade Gap; 5 grandchildren, David Alan Faus, Krista Kay Woods, Shelly Renee Vance and husband Douglas all of Lancaster County; Justin Levi Walker and wife Paige of Three Springs; and Dustin Christoff and fiancée Angel Spenatti of Three Springs; 11 great grandchildren, Rachel Elizabeth Marie, Damian Scott, Zen Marie, Braiden Michael, Mackenzie Lynn, Olive Marie, Harper Jean Marie, Harrison James all of Lancaster County; Scarlett Kleo Walker of Three Springs; Donta Christoff and Cameron Trice of Mount Union; great-great granddaughter, Adaline Reese; two brothers, Thomas Gilbert of Kearneysville, WV; and William J. Gilbert and wife Lois of New Philadelphia, Ohio; sister, Patsy Engle of East Freedom; and several nieces and nephews. Kay was preceded in death by her sister, Judith Woodal; grandson, James Duane Faus; and son-in-law, Rick. Kay graduated from Southern Huntingdon County High School in 1963. She enjoyed feeding birds, chipmunks, and squirrels, spending time with her family, and putting puzzles together. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
