Szymala, Josephine A., 97, Cresson, went home to be with the Lord, May 23, 2018 at St. Benedict Manor. Born March 8, 1921, in Buffington, daughter of the late Stephen and Stephina (Hajzus) Hovanec. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph A.; and eight sisters. Survived by her son, Ronald, Ebensburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of St. Francis Xavier Church, Cresson. At Josephine’s request, there will be a private family viewing. Funeral Mass will be celebrated May 25, 11 a.m., St. Francis Xavier Church, Msgr. Bernard A. Przybocki, celebrant.
