Klemstine, Joseph P., 68, Cresson, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, of ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). Born Sept. 13, 1948, in Altoona, son of Julius F. and Dorothy (Davis) Klemstine. Preceded in death by father. Survived by loving mother; siblings: Charles (Marian), Ann Arbor, Michigan; William (Teresa), Pittsburgh; Dorothy Jane, Camp Hill; Anneliese; and Sally, both of Cresson; and Joan, Los Angeles, Calif.; also numerous nieces and nephews. Joe was a 1966 graduate of Cresson Joint High School, and a former boy scout and boy scout leader. SSGT USAF from 1967 to 1971. Graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in 1974, and afterwards located to Atlanta, Georgia, where he enjoyed a rewarding career as a professional photographer and Graphics Art Director. Joe also received an art degree from Georgia Tech Univ. Remember fondly by his Marietta, Ga. neighbors, Martha, Connie and Gordon. Former member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Marietta, and current member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Cresson. Friends received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Charles M. Kennedy Funeral Home, Cresson, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 A.M. Saturday at St. Aloysius Church, Rev. Leo Arnone. Committal, church cemetery. Military graveside rite by Cresson American Legion, Sankertown V.F.W. and other local veteran organizations.
