John A. Young, 82, Lewistown, passed away on March 18, 2026, at William Penn Nursing and Rehabilitation, Lewistown. Born on December 7, 1943, in Mapleton, to John Banks Young and Elsie (Frain) Young which join him along with his two brothers and three sisters in heavenly peace. He is survived by daughter, Machelle Young; son, Lee Young. John was a man who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing and hunting, and had a lifelong interest in trains. He also enjoyed listening to live bands and music, but what meant the most to him was time spent with his friends and family, sharing stories, laughter, and good company. He will be remembered for his easygoing nature, his appreciation for the outdoors, and the many memories he created with those he loved. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the compassionate nursing staff at William Penn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the care, kindness, and support they provided.
