Houck Jr., John W., 79, Alexandria, passed away October 4, 2022, at his home, following an extended illness. Born March 6, 1943, Williamsburg, son of the late John and Ruth (Lightner) Houck, Sr. Survived by his children, Melinda L. Weko and husband Metz of Alexandria and Brian Houck and wife Tonia of Warriors Mark; 6 grandchildren, Katie Weishaar husband Jim of Taneytown, MD, Ruthanne Weko of Alexandria, Sarah Scott husband Elmer of Huntingdon, Hailey Houck of Warriors Mark, Daniel and Hunter Gross both of Pottsville; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Don Houck wife Hannah; and by his son-in-law, Terry Gross. He was preceded in death by his lifelong companion, Mary Jane LeBon; daughter, Heidi Gross; and sister, Hazel Meyers. John was a 1961 graduate of State College High School. He worked various jobs in the construction and roofing industry and retired from Warnaco of Huntingdon. He loved to watch his grandchildren and great grandchildren play sports and was an avid Penn State Football and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. All services will be privately held at the convenience of his family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Huntingdon County Humane Society 11371 School House Hollow Rd., Huntingdon, PA 16652; Family Hospice 20 Sheraton Dr. Altoona, PA 16601; or to the American Cancer Society 10955 Raystown Rd., Huntingdon, PA 16652.
