John R. “Speed” Grimes, 75, of Petersburg passed away July 10, 2026, at James A. Van Zandt VA Medical Center, Altoona. Born December 12, 1950, in Huntingdon, son of the late John R. and Shirley (Baird) Grimes. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Tammy Morton. He is survived by his wife Vickie Dysard who resides at their residence in Petersburg. “Speed” served for the United States Military in the Air Force as an electronics mechanic and after an honorable discharge returned home and later retired from SCI Huntingdon where he worked as a Corrections Officer for 20 years. He enjoyed spending his time in the great outdoors and could often be found hunting and fishing and was an avid pool player. “Speed” loved and cherished his family and friends.
